Director's Message:  

Started in 1983 (Planned in 1981 during the International year for the Disabled), ARPAN Institute (formally known as Red Cross Home for Mentally Retarded Children and Red Cross Institute For Mentally Retarded Children) has the credit of being the FIRST and BEST Institute in the State of Haryana. Over the years ARPAN has achieved many MILESTONES in the history of Disability sector in the State of Haryana and in the country also. Even after facing many hardships/constraints it has established itself as the best in service delivery models for children with Intellectual Disability, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Multiple Disabled and also the outstanding in generating trained manpower by conducting courses at Certificate, Diploma and Degree level. Arpan has also the credit of having fully equipped departments to meet the needs of children and providing fresh, neat, clean and hygienic residential hostels for special children. The programmes cover complete life span of individuals with disabilities and have a team of dedicated professionals. Its innovative models of PARENTS EMPOWERMENT programmes are unique and have benefitted parents/family members tremendously. ARPAN also has the credit of rehabilitation of more than eighty persons in the main stream of life. This all has been made possible with the support of all concerned.

ARPAN still has to cover many untouched and unexplored areas in the years to come to bring happiness in the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families and contribute its mite by rehabilitating children with Intellectual disability in the mainstream, providing quality training to train manpower and to conduct field research.
