ARPAN INSTITUTE FOR MENTALLY HANDICAPPED CHILDREN
Admission Procedure:-
Intellectual Disabled Children of mild to moderate level having IQ between 70 to 36 belonging to any religion caste, socio-economic status and language are eligible for admission.
Steps followed for Admission :-
First of all a child is assessed in the Diagnostic Clinic.

• Medical Assessment, Speech & Language Assessment & Physio Occupational Therapy Assessment are got carried out. reports are collected and a conclusion is drawn. The parents of the child are guided/counselled accordingly. If a child is found eligible, he is given admission. If seats are not vacant he/she is kept in the waiting list. The child who is not found eligible and parents of the child are willing to opt for the Home Training Programme, are given Home Training. The child who is not found eligible his parents are guided to other Institutions for admission.
Note:- - If it is found that Parents are not sincere in implementing the Home Training Programme, the vacant seat available is allotted to other children in the waiting list.
Age Limit:
Residential Setting: Minimum 3 years and maximum 15 years
Day-Care Setting:- Minimum 3 years and maximum 18 years
Other Conditions for Admission under Residential Setting:-
- The Child must be toilet trained ( For Residential Setting only)
- The Child must not be having epileptic seizures.( For Residential Setting only)
- The Child must not be having Hyperkinesis.( For Residential Setting only)
Note:-
- The Parents of Child (having hyperkinesis and not toilet trained) are helped for development of the child under Home Training Programme.
- Preference is given in admission to those children who are on roll for Home training Programme and have shown satisfactory results.
